Council Member De La Rosa inquires about the accessibility of the Public Service Corps (PSC) program for undocumented and mixed-status students. DCAS Assistant Commissioner Kadian Outar provides a response regarding eligibility requirements.

  • The program requires participants to be able to work within the US
  • DCAS does not currently have a breakdown of documented vs. undocumented participants
  • Outar acknowledges this is an area they can look into further

One of the things that is very near and dear to my heart from my previous service for the state is the Dream Act and making sure that undocumented students are also having access.

So I know one of the requirements within the program is that folks are able to work within the US, so that's the requirement on it.

We don't really have a breakdown of whether or not they're documented or undocumented.

That's something that we can definitely look into.
