Why can't talk to you this time around?
Kadian Outar
1:02:32
I'm sorry?
Gale A. Brewer
1:02:32
Why can't they get in this time around?
Kadian Outar
1:02:35
Because of the amount of positions that we have available,
Gale A. Brewer
1:02:38
because of funding.
Kadian Outar
1:02:41
That could be a part of the the process, but we have approval for only 200 positions.
1:02:46
So that, again, is a mechanism for being able to use a civil service title.
1:02:51
So agencies are very much interested in partnering with us, and we do get a lot of applications from our agency partners.
1:02:58
Who are looking to participate in the program.
1:03:00
So there's definitely interest on both sides, but because of the nature of the civil service process and that is a non competitive title, we are unlimited and how many folks we can hire this time around.
Gale A. Brewer
1:03:11
I mean, I don't go ahead.
1:03:12
Did you wanna add of them.
Katrina Porter
1:03:16
I was just gonna mention that it that it is a competitive process.
1:03:19
You know?
1:03:20
It's a, you know, group interviews, individual interviews, and so everyone, you know, cannot be selected.
1:03:26
In the program.
1:03:27
However, we do understand how important this program is, and we will continue to evaluate the scope and, you know, the amount of available positions that we can offer.
Eric Dinowitz
1:03:37
I mean,
Gale A. Brewer
1:03:37
if you want more than two hundred slats, you should say to us, know, lobby the governor, lobby whatever to get more slots if it's appropriate.
1:03:45
I I mean, I don't know.
1:03:46
I assume the unions are happy with having more in that criteria.
1:03:50
I wanna make sure that I mean, I happen to be very supportive of of the unions.
1:03:54
I wanna make sure that but I'm just saying, I don't know how else to say it.
1:03:58
Take a look.
1:03:59
We don't have enough city employees.
1:04:02
So these are wonderful students.
1:04:04
There's enough backup, etcetera.
1:04:06
And I think we're limiting ourselves when we are desperate and hopefully they'll have a career in city government, which is what we're looking for.
1:04:13
You talk to anybody.
1:04:14
I've been doing this a long time.
1:04:15
I have so many friends in city government.
1:04:17
They are really worried.
1:04:18
Really worried about the lack of a long term city workforce.
1:04:24
Here you have it.
Carmen De La Rosa
1:04:25
Thank you, Casimir Brewer.
