DCAS Assistant Commissioner Kadian Outar compares participation and engagement levels between virtual and in-person civil service outreach events.
- Virtual events tend to have higher registration numbers, with up to 1,000 people registering for general sessions
- In-person events with schools or organizations may have lower turnout but are limited to specific groups
- Engagement levels are similar for both formats, with interactive activities included in all sessions
- The team focuses on ensuring participants understand the information regardless of the event format

So in terms of the engagement between the in person and virtual events, we see that as both ways.

We see more people who will register in his hand virtual events.

For example, we would put we do these general sessions and we post them on our website, and we'll get about a thousand people that are registering for them versus when we're partnering with the schools or particular organizations, it's limited to only those folks that are engaging in those services, so we may get a a lower turnout.

But in terms of the engagement with the information that is being shared, I think it's the same because we regardless of where we're going, I have a team of folks that are really engaged with the information and wanna make sure that even though civil service, you know, isn't very exciting, we wanna make sure that folks leave understanding the information, understanding where they can go to apply for jobs, what it means to apply for these jobs, what it means to apply for exams.

So we include different interactive activities during the sessions, both virtually and in person.
