It will establish composting facilities in the city parks to manage plant waste sustainably, modeled after the Riverside Park composting facility, which is so fabulous that people come just to see it, and it is powered by solar.

This initiative aims to reduce the amount of organic waste into landfills, improve soil health, and decrease greenhouse gas emissions, create green jobs because they'll have to have jobs to operate the sites.

The implementation plan called for at least 1 compost facility in 2 parks per borough by July 26, one compost facility in 3 parks in each borough by July 27, one compost facility in 5 parks in July 28.
