Council Member Oswald Feliz expresses his strong support for the broker fee bill (Intro 360-A, known as the FARE Act), citing it as good policy based on common sense. He argues that the bill addresses the housing crisis in New York City by removing obstacles for renters.

  • Feliz emphasizes that sellers or renters typically pay for advertising their own products, questioning why renters should bear this cost in NYC.
  • He stresses the importance of creating a better housing system, especially for low-income families struggling to find apartments.
  • Feliz congratulates Council Member Ossé for bringing the bill to completion.

Proud of all I know, especially proud to vote yes on the broker bill, a bill that is based on good policy and based on common sense.

Anytime we talk about any industry, an individual selling or renting a product, generally it's that individual doing the renting or the selling of that product who would, pay for the advertisement of that product.

How is it possible that in the city of New York, a city where, we're clearly in a well documented housing crisis, we're gonna put additional obstacles on those that want to rent?
0:30:58
We need to make sure that we create a better housing system for everyone, including for low income families that are struggling to find an apartment.

For that reason and for many other reasons, I'm proud to vote I on that that broker bill and on all.

And I wanna congratulate council member Osei on getting that to the finish
