I I I don't know.
0:52:20
I don't really necessarily have a a Mhmm.
0:52:23
Question about this, but a comment.
0:52:25
I know that the, the Mayor's Executive Order 43, for everybody to be looking for sites for housing, potentially can very much conflict with this.
0:52:35
And not in every case, but in some cases where there might be some competing interests.
0:52:39
And I think that's why where we have in in industrial zone Mhmm.
0:52:45
Protected and, you know, ideally, mapped core industrial spaces, we might be able to really identify and hone in on those areas, which is what the bill is focused on is those particular areas versus, where housing isn't appropriate if we're trying to protect some of our core industrial space.
0:53:05
Do you I don't know if I guess my question would be, like, do you do you see a conflict there where where it comes to industrial sites or, in terms of the goals of identifying more places for urban ag?
0:53:20
Or do you you know, I to me, I don't think there's a conflict, but I it is mentioned in your testimony.
0:53:26
So, maybe you could just share a little bit more about what you thought.
Qiana Mickie
0:53:29
I'm sorry.
0:53:29
Can you repeat the question?
Sandy Nurse
0:53:31
Yeah.
0:53:31
I'm not I'm I was, like, commenting and kind of questioning.
0:53:34
But, you know, the the order is saying, we need to find housing.
0:53:39
Let's look at every city owned parcel we have that can be utilized for housing.
0:53:44
Mhmm.
0:53:44
At the same time, you all are trying to identify city owned parcels for urban agriculture.
0:53:51
Yes.
0:53:52
My comment is I don't think there's a conflict because our bill is specific to industrial zones.
0:53:57
Yes.
0:53:57
But it could be, depending on the nature of how this order plays out once things are identified.
0:54:03
So Yes.
0:54:04
I guess I was just wondering since you did mention it in your, testimony that, you know, local food production in the city must be done strategically so as not to compete with other critical land uses such as housing.
0:54:17
Do you do you think we'd run into some major problems at all if we were to move forward on legislation like this?
