The NYPD has expanded the use of home visits to juveniles caught on subway surfings.

What I wanna know is what information does the department provide to families at the time of the home visit and who conducts these visits, When do they occur?
1:16:59
Are parents usually receptive to the NYPD?
1:17:02
And does the NYPD have any information on tracking individuals who have recent have received home visits?
1:17:08
Are they less likely to engage in repeat risky behavior?

1:17:13
Like I said, I think that's where we've focused on, especially when I first took over taking, those 10 top 10 with, 2 detectives that I know are are top notch and speaking with those parents, and it was received incredibly well.
1:17:26
One of those juveniles was missing, and my detectives got personally involved with that particular child.
1:17:31
We're still in contact with the mother.
1:17:32
There's 2 of the juveniles out of 10 we're still currently in contact with.
1:17:36
So I think it's very impactful to have those.
1:17:38
Our NCOs and our YCOs are conducting the the ones as well, on a local basis for each district.
1:17:45
But, I really saw the benefit of getting 2 credible people from that neighborhood to go out and speak.
1:17:52
And that really it's been well received by the parents.
1:17:55
Literature's given.
1:17:56
Videos are shown.
1:17:57
And then, like I said, 2 of the youth have really given us a lot of information about why it's done, the peer pressure that goes involved with it.
1:18:05
And if you watch some of these drone footages, you'll have 13, 14 kids up on that thing, and they're doing acrobats.
1:18:12
They're jumping around.
1:18:13
They're jumping from train.
1:18:14
So, you know, when you hit subway surfing, we think they're standing up on that train.
1:18:19
The 1 up mission that was spoken about earlier, the social media component, I watch these videos and my heart is in my throat every time I watch it.
1:18:27
It's not just simple standing on top of a train.
1:18:30
It's way more than that.
1:18:31
And when you watch it and you're watching the live feed, which we have, it's heartbreaking because you you you're praying there's no tragedy that comes from it.
