The City Register provides statistics on flagged documents and deed fraud rejections in response to Council Member Menin's questions.

  • Approximately 47,000 documents were initially flagged
  • 4,700 of those were sent for further quality review
  • Only 203 (about 0.42%) were rejected and not recorded due to deed fraud

Okay.
0:41:56
So with so with the, recently we started flagging the information of those documents that are being flagged for deed fraud.
0:42:07
So, we had about, I'm just going 47,000.
0:42:11
That's not the exact number, but I'm just giving you the general idea.
0:42:14
We have 47,000.
0:42:16
Of that 47,000, 4,700, was sent to the quality review to do a further review to see if there's any suspicion.
0:42:29
Out of those, only 203 were rejected and not recorded because of deed fraud.
0:42:38
So that's less than, like, 1%.
0:42:40
It's, like, 0.42.
Julie Menin
0:42:42
Yeah.
0:42:42
That's exactly so So the point being of the 203, I believe, that you have mentioned, why wouldn't the agency call those individuals?
0:42:51
Because you wanna alert them to the problem the minute it happens.
0:42:54
Right?
0:42:54
So that's seems like a very narrow subset to call.
Colette McCain-Jacques
0:42:59
Right.
0:43:00
So that's something we can look into.
