I do want, to begin by remembering the New Yorkers who faced unspeakable violence perpetrated against our communities.

On Monday, a man stabbed 3 New Yorkers killing them.

On Wednesday, NYPD officer Rich Wong and a 26 year old young woman were shot by a gunman.

All of us deserve to be and feel safe in our city.

Horrific violent crimes like these negatively impact all of us.

I'd like to commend the NYPD for their ongoing efforts to keep New Yorkers safe, and this council will continue to work to comprehensively improve public safety for every neighborhood together with our stakeholders.
