Council Member Eric Dinowitz expresses frustration over the lack of concrete data and information provided by CUNY during the hearing, hindering productive dialogue on implementing the Lippman report recommendations. He emphasizes the importance of having this information to address issues of safety and inclusivity at CUNY.
- Dinowitz points out that many elements of the report were known before its release, yet CUNY seems unprepared to discuss implementation.
- He criticizes the frequent 'we'll get back to you' responses as inappropriate for the hearing's purpose.
- The council member stresses the shared goal of creating a safe and welcoming environment for all CUNY students, which is hampered by the lack of available data.

I think one of the challenges here, and I think, you know, we're we're looking for solutions.
2:00:43
We're looking for updates.
2:00:44
This report has been out for roughly 2 months, but there are also things in it that you knew, we all knew beforehand.
2:00:51
A number of these things weren't surprises.
2:00:55
And it it is, as council member Menon said, it's a little shocking that today there is no information data related to a number of the elements of this report that we need in order to have a productive dialogue because we both want the same thing.
2:01:12
We want a CUNY that is safe and welcoming for all students, and that's what we're here to talk about.
2:01:19
Those conversations become very challenging when that data doesn't exist or it exists rather, but it's not being shared, or you didn't come prepared with it.
2:01:31
And so I know when I asked the question, well, how many students have been admonished, expelled, any sort of discipline for violating the Henderson rules, for acts of antisemitism, and the answer is we'll get back to you.
2:01:46
That's not appropriate for this hearing, for what we're trying to do together.
2:01:52
I'm gonna turn it over to council member Batcher for a question.
2:01:54
We've also been joined by council member Brewer.
