Today, we're voting on City of Yes for housing opportunity.
1:19:55
And after significant back and forth with the administration, I will be casting a yes vote today.
1:20:02
While the mayor, through his initial proposal, failed to create a sufficient plan for affordable housing, I am proud to have worked alongside my colleagues and speaker Adams to ensure significant capital investments through our city for all package.
1:20:16
My vote today is an acknowledgment of the 2,000,000,000 committed to maintaining our parks and public infrastructure, an acknowledgment of the 2,000,000,000 allocated to affordable housing preservation and development.
1:20:28
And of the 187 or excuse me, for the commitment to expand city feps that will create additional housing for our homeless neighbors and the 200,000,000 commitment to reduce vacancy rates in NYCHA.
1:20:43
While this is a major win for the council, I want to acknowledge that this is only a piece of the work we need to continue to engage in to create a more just and livable city for working class New Yorkers.
1:20:55
I will continue to fight on behalf of my constituents to ensure that they and their families can grow and prosper in our communities without fear of displacement.
1:21:05
Thank you, speaker Adams.
1:21:07
And with that, I vote aye.
