How many investigators do you have within your agency to to deal with these cases specifically?
Vilda Vera Mayuga
0:28:01
Thank you, council member.
0:28:02
We we have 36 total in the team of the Office of Labor Policy and Standards.
0:28:10
Doing enforcement.
0:28:11
I'm sorry.
0:28:11
Doing enforcement.
0:28:13
And that includes the investigators and also attorneys.
0:28:16
Yes.
UNKNOWN
0:28:16
And our data scientists.
Elizabeth Wagoner
0:28:18
So I
Vilda Vera Mayuga
0:28:19
can get you a, like, a specific breakdown if you want it, but that's the whole team that he's doing.
0:28:26
I don't wanna just focus only on investigators because a lot of our investigation enforcement is very data driven.
0:28:32
So we do rely on a data scientist as well, and, obviously, the attorneys, you know, depending on on where the cases are at.
0:28:37
So he's like a whole team that is looking at this.
0:28:40
Now, yes, those 36 are not only dedicated to the worker delivery laws, but also the other laws that we enforce.
Sandy Nurse
0:28:48
What would you say is, if I was looking at a pie pie chart, what's the percentage of the of what your team is working on as it relates to the delivery workers and cases of cases of wage theft around delivery workers?
0:29:01
Like, is it a 50% of of the work is being done by that team or more or less?
Elizabeth Wagoner
0:29:09
It's hard to say exactly that way.
0:29:12
I I can say that the 3 biggest laws that we enforce, are paid safe and sick leave, fair work week, and delivery.
0:29:21
And delivery includes, nonpayment and minimum payment, but also, obviously, other all the protections in those laws.
0:29:29
I would say between those three categories, our enforcement staff is is a little less than a third, a third, a third, and then there are, of course, other issues that come in as well.
