So would that then mean that you would favor, delayed, enactment period for these two new laws to go into effect?
0:25:13
Or the the prior pay law did take some time for it to go into effect for companies to be able to ramp up for compliance.
0:25:21
Would you then recommend a similar treatment for these two pieces of legislation?
Vilda Vera Mayuga
0:25:26
Absolutely not.
0:25:27
We 100% agree with the bills as they are drafted with those timings.
0:25:32
We have had this 1 year plus to look at the industry and already put into place the groundbreaking legislations for food service delivery workers.
0:25:42
And now it's just a matter of expanding that coverage to other workers.
0:25:45
There's no need to delay it as it is intro 11:30 5 to go into effect immediately for the grocery delivery workers.
0:25:53
And then we are looking into the the full suite, right, of the protections for the workers in in all contract delivery workers and then at the 18 months when we would have, we have committed that we would have studied and issue any updated minimum pay rate for all contracted delivery workers.
0:26:17
So we are confident that this is sufficient time and the bills is drafted.
