NYPL's branch libraries conduct various initiatives to support and promote indigenous arts, culture, and history. These efforts aim to engage local communities and highlight indigenous voices through diverse programming.

One such collaboration took place as a collaboration between the Staten Island Museum and the West New Brighton Library.
