Hello and good evening to everyone, and thank you, chair for the opportunity to present.
6:57:15
I wanted to start out by saying that I empathize with Priscilla and any other victims of, ebikes as I myself have suffered from a fractured sternum, while on a bike lane.
6:57:28
However, I do realize that licenses as proposed by intro, the introduction by, council member Holden is not the solution.
6:57:39
There are other options, that I have conceived, like enforcing that Uber and Lyft and show speeds on their apps and control the speed of delivery stuff on their apps.
6:57:52
Citi Bike to limit speeds to 15 miles an hour similar to what VO and Lime do in the Bronx pilot.
6:58:02
And also, in my case is that as a person who uses Citi bikes and the screen on the actual bike and should show the speed that you're going, because especially when you're going downhill on an ebike.
6:58:18
It is, because of the way that the gravity is is is working for you, it increases your speed a lot.
6:58:25
And in that case, it can be very hard to tell how fast you're going.
6:58:31
And also just thinking about other countries that have, bikes and bike laws, I feel like the Dutch have done a very good job of creating protected bike lanes and separating bikes from pedestrians to the point where the the instances of crashes, between, bikes, electric or not, and pedestrians have been severely reduced.
6:58:57
And just in in general, I completely understand wanting justice for victims, and I do believe that we should hold my person accountable.
6:59:06
I just don't think that,
