2:20:38
Can I reclaim my time there?
2:20:39
Andrew Fine, vice president of the East 86th Street Association, founding member, and legislative director for the New York City E Vehicle Alliance.
2:20:47
Please ask everyone speaking today who they are affiliated with and if they are a paid employee of that organization.
2:20:54
New York City E Vehicle Safety Alliance has over 1200 members.
2:20:58
Everyone is a volunteer.
2:20:59
Nobody is paid.
2:21:01
You may notice after 3 hours, couple had to go back to work.
2:21:04
Why would an organization like Transportation Alternatives, the lead organizer in opposition to Priscilla's Law, be so opposed to basic accountability measure that will change 1 and lawless rider behavior and in turn reduce injuries and fatalities to pedestrians and cyclists alike?
2:21:23
I suggest that they lack credibility on this issue.
2:21:27
All you have to do is follow the money.
2:21:29
How can Transalt pass themselves off as an honest broker when they have taken supersized donations from the like of Uber, Lyft Citibike, DoorDash, and Lime.
2:21:40
These are the very interests looking to profit from our streets and us every day.
2:21:44
Of course, they oppose accountability because to them, accountability means liability.
2:21:50
So they come out with ridiculous fear monitoring arguments like the idea that requiring a plate for an ebike is akin to stop and frisk 2 point o.
2:21:59
Really?
2:22:00
You have to be kidding.
2:22:01
If police wanted to engage in systemic racist conspiracy against delivery workers, all they would have to do is go to the corner of Broadway and Murray right here, and it's shooting fish in a barrel.
2:22:12
I'll wrap up.
2:22:14
I won't go into the what we're looking for here is basic accountability.
2:22:20
We demand justice for our victims.
2:22:22
How is it fair that our victims are left with life altering injuries, trauma, and a pile of hospital bills?
2:22:28
How is it fair that the city council views these victims as acceptable collateral damage in the race for a 7 minute chicken sandwich?
2:22:37
These people deserve justice.
