My name is Sandy Rayburn.
4:42:29
Thanks for having me.
4:42:30
I am 80 years old, born in New York City, lived here all my life, and I ask you to support Priscilla's law on behalf of your loved ones.
4:42:40
I'm not here to ask you to ban ebikes.
4:42:44
I'm here in the rain to tell you that when an ebike hits me, I have no recourse.
4:42:49
The city council's mandate is to protect New Yorkers.
4:42:53
Let's require common sense accountability for any and all motorized vehicles, whether 2 wheels or 4 or 1.
4:43:02
It's frankly puzzling, however, that some of your colleagues, city council chairs, members are ignoring the obvious, namely that we are not safe on sidewalks, we are not safe crossing streets, and we are no longer safe in the city we love.
4:43:19
A question to you as a pedestrian, why is it that we have to take our life in our hands?
4:43:24
Another question, why is it that Lincoln wrestler, mega proponent of safety, feels free to break laws riding the wrong way on streets and no helmet?
4:43:36
Another, why is it that Crystal Hudson, the chair of the aging committee no less, is unembarrassed to ride on the sidewalk also breaking the law?
4:43:46
Want pictures?
4:43:48
Ask me.
4:43:48
I have the receipts.
4:43:50
The ableism, ageism, and hypocrisy, yes, hypocrisy are unacceptable.
4:43:55
Pass 606 Priscilla's law.
4:43:58
Your father, mother, grandparents will thank you for it, and so will we.
4:44:02
And I'm I'm struck by what's up there.
4:44:04
A government of the people, by the people, for the people.
4:44:08
Well, wait a minute.
4:44:09
It looks like it's a government of the people, by the people, for transportation alternatives, a lobby.
4:44:18
Let's get real, folks.
4:44:21
You've recognized any number of these TA people here.
4:44:25
Hi.
4:44:25
How you doing?
4:44:26
We only get our lousy 2 minutes here to tell you that we need to be safe.
4:44:31
So please pay attention.
