Council Member Williams inquires about the caseload of LAB attorneys at the NYC Commission on Human Rights. Deputy Commissioner Katherine Carroll responds that attorneys typically manage between 40-50 cases, with variations depending on the complexity of litigation involved.

  • LAB attorneys handle an average of 40-50 cases
  • Caseloads may fluctuate based on the number of cases in litigation
  • New attorneys gradually ramp up to full caseloads

There was a question that somebody text me around how many cases do LAB attorneys have.
1:19:32
I know we asked this before, but can you do you have that information on how many attorneys how many cases an LAB attorney has to manage?
Katherine Carroll

The attorneys, on average, have between 40 50, and they ramp up to that when they're onboarded.
1:19:48
And that can grow or diminish depending on how many cases they have in litigation because that can be significantly more work intensive than, a regular investigation moving through the initial stage.

Okay.
