Council Member Nantasha M. Williams inquires about current vacancies within CCHR, particularly in the Law Enforcement Bureau (LEB). CCHR representatives provide an overview of their staffing situation.

  • CCHR has a headcount of 136 with 112 active staff members.
  • The Law Enforcement Bureau is in the process of staffing up.
  • Specific breakdowns of vacancies by position and department were not available during the hearing, but will be provided later.

Thank you.
1:45:13
So just a few questions on your capacity and then the legislation, and then we're done.
1:45:19
As of December 11, 2024, there were 27 vacancies within CCHR, 15 of which are in the law enforcement bureau.
1:45:29
What is the breakdown of vacancies by position and department, and how do vacancies impact LEB's ability to investigate and close cases?
1:45:39
And you can feel free to share if you have other vacancies because I do wanna acknowledge a lot of our conversations about focusing on not just LED, but the other units at CCHR as well.

1:45:51
Yeah.
1:45:51
And I think councilwoman Joseph had asked the very similar question.
1:45:55
We don't have the details on the breakdowns.
1:45:58
Right now, I can say we have, I can say our head count head count is 136.
1:46:03
Our active staff is a 112.
1:46:05
And what I was saying before as as the good news is the law enforcement bureau is is staffing up, and so we feel very good good about that.
1:46:13
And, and I I continue to say that our staff is doing really great work.
1:46:18
And I think that will be reflected in our forthcoming, reports even if, fiscal year 24, saw some dips in some of the areas of our work.
