Commissioner Dannhauser outlines specific proposals for strengthening the mental health service system for children after foster care, in response to Council Member Menin's question.

  • Suggestions include adding resources to providers and advocating for improved state funding
  • Discussion of challenges with current rate structures for certain services (CFTSS)
  • Proposal to invest in existing infrastructure and therapist capacity
  • Emphasis on both direct investment and advocacy for system improvements

So how specifically do you propose to strengthen the system?
Jess Dannhauser
1:29:25
By adding resources to the providers, advocating with the the state to strengthen the rates there, it's been difficult for them to build out some of their CFTSS services.
1:29:37
These are, the kinds of services that are very accessible to young people, but the the rate structure has been difficult for providers to get it up.
1:29:46
And so whether the investment is into building on the therapists that they have there already and to strengthen that infrastructure.
1:29:56
Or if it's around advocacy, I think there's a a few ways we can get there.
Julie Menin

Okay.
