And just even to think about that, as you're working with them, how are you working with the local council members?
0:21:20
Because if I I like, again, if I'm getting calls, I'm sure other people are getting calls.
0:21:23
I probably get additional calls because I'm the chair, but I'm sure other people are getting calls saying, like, how do I help?
0:21:28
So how are you even getting that information because I think that, you know, how I always feel, I don't know why city agencies aren't working together, and so how are you also working with DYCD to have this in all their community centers or after school programs, doing the outreach there, because we keep saying in schools, great, but we know sometimes that that's not the right point of contact because the parents don't feel comfortable there.
0:21:47
So what does this look like?
0:21:48
How are we training DYCD staff as they they're working with kids on basis to get this stuff.
0:21:52
So what does that look like?
Jess Dannhauser
0:21:54
We're we're accelerating all of it.
0:21:56
I would love to be able to sit down with you and go through ways in which we can work with the entire council to get it's a great idea, to see if we can make sure everyone has that information.
0:22:07
We prioritize schools
Althea V. Stevens
0:22:08
have principal stuff?
0:22:09
Principal stuff?
0:22:10
Because we could also just email it to them as well.
0:22:11
Yeah.
0:22:12
Absolutely.
0:22:12
Okay.
0:22:12
That'd be great.
Jess Dannhauser
0:22:13
The reason we started with schools is because they are one of the largest reporters.
0:22:17
We started there.
0:22:17
We started with hospitals, with shelters, and so we wanted them to know right away.
0:22:23
Your ideas about where to go next are, I think, are spot on, and we
Althea V. Stevens
0:22:26
don't know.
0:22:26
Sometimes we forget that after school programs are probably the better place to start because they have different relationships, and we forget that.
0:22:33
Right?
0:22:33
Because I when I was a director, do you know how many times schools would send kids to me and say you need to call ECS because they didn't want to do it?
0:22:40
And so we are forgetting that there's a whole other group of people that work with kids on a regular basis that sometimes have better relationships than the schools that we are just kinda leaving out the conversation.
0:22:50
So, like, when you're thinking about Cornerstones, Beacons, those people are actually the ones doing the support, and usually the people that you contract to do the the wrap around services anyway, so why would we not also just work there when you're already contracting them to do the work?
0:23:03
Because a lot of these are multiple.
0:23:04
Like, they do multiple things.
Jess Dannhauser
0:23:06
As someone who's, run Cornerstone and Deacon's as well, I totally respect them.
0:23:11
We got it.
UNKNOWN
0:23:11
Yeah.
0:23:12
A 100%.
Althea V. Stevens
0:23:12
That's that's that's just my feedback around that.
Jess Dannhauser
0:23:15
Thank you.
