New York City Industrial Plan and survey

SBS is collaborating with other city agencies to develop and implement the New York City Industrial Plan, a citywide framework to guide industrial policy.
- The plan is being developed in response to Chair Farias' Local Law 172 of 2023.
- The Department of City Planning launched an industrial plan business survey to gather insights from businesses.
- SBS providers conducted outreach in Industrial Business Zones (IBZs) to distribute the survey.
- Council members are encouraged to promote survey participation among their constituents.

SBS is also collaborating with the Department of City Planning, DCP, and NYC Economic Development Corporation, NYC EDC, to implement Chair Farias' local law 172 of 2023, supporting the development of the New York City Industrial Plan, a city wide framework to guide industrial policy.

As part of this effort, DCP launched an industrial, plan business survey to gather insights on business operations, space needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

To date, SBS providers who conducted door to door outreach in industrial business zones, IBZs distributed the survey digitally and sent targeted email blasts.
