Our hope today is to promote dialogue to ensure that policing in New York City is fair, equitable, and effective.

Through transparency and accountability, we hope to build public trust in the department and confidence that the department is taking necessary steps to ensure its use of stop and frisk and other investigative encounters is not discriminatory.
