So developing this plan has been a legal mandate for over 10 years.
1:37:19
I have a very simple question.
1:37:22
What's taking so long, and what are the details of that plan?
Michael Gerber
1:37:27
When you say the plan, do you mean the Rachel the, 14th Amendment compliance plan or you mean, monitorship compliance more generally?
1:37:34
I'm
Yousef Salaam
1:37:35
The, 14th Amendment.
1:37:36
Yeah.
Michael Gerber
1:37:37
So I think I think it's a fair question.
1:37:38
I think it's a fair critique.
1:37:40
You know, I think I think for in the early years of the monitorship, I think there was a lot of focus on revising policies, revising training.
1:37:48
There has been for a long time now.
1:37:49
I think a lot of focus on the 4th amendment piece.
1:37:52
I think it is totally fair to say that the monitor has been pushing the department to have a to do a 4 heat development compliance plan for quite some time, and there certainly wasn't extended period of time when when we had not done that.
1:38:05
It's a fair criticism.
1:38:07
But I mean, we we really made a push on this year, this calendar year, is to is to is to fill that gap.
1:38:14
So we're doing it now, working with the monitor on that, and it's it is a priority.
