I think this is amazing.
1:09:28
I think it's great that we're doing this because, unfortunately I don't have that artistic ability, but I do see how it can be very therapeutic.
1:09:36
I know my own child, how she really does enjoy singing and acting and, you know, as we have in common, with both of her daughters, that it's it's really, like, puts them out there, and it's and it's it's absolutely amazing.
1:09:49
Now I was wondering, is there a way that you can create a list for us of these organizations that we can pass on to our local veterans?
1:09:58
I don't know if it's something that you already have established, if it's on a website, or if it's just a simple email.
Ellen Greeley
1:10:06
I believe I I gave that list over to Regina, from the ones that we're aware of, but we also recognize that we are birthing a new industry here.
1:10:15
Let's not minimize it.
1:10:17
I mean, veteran art as a genre could really grow in a lot of different ways and a lot of it is is about bringing it really to the community level so that it's accessible for people to to engage and enjoy in.
1:10:31
I mean, it's it's a challenge.
1:10:32
I live in the Northwest Bronx, so I could tell you coming into the city, I have to think twice about I'm sorry.
1:10:39
Manhattan.
1:10:40
We always think about it as Same here.
Kristy Marmorato
1:10:41
Everything to me is downtown.
1:10:43
I'm in the Bronx,
Ellen Greeley
1:10:43
so anything I'm
Kristy Marmorato
1:10:44
lonely is downtown.
Ellen Greeley
1:10:45
Exactly.
1:10:45
We're going to the city.
1:10:47
So the reality of it is that we're, that we really do, want to keep it.
1:10:53
I know the Bronx is filled with the arts in so many different ways.
1:10:58
We should really exploit it as far as I'm concerned.
1:11:01
We should have exhibitions of veteran art in all our boroughs all the time, really make this a, we should really brand it and really make it a New York City venture in many cases.
1:11:13
And we started it, with Solomon Goodney Club and you'll hear from our friends in a little while, but the part part of it is really bringing it to the community level and that's what we're looking forward to.
James Hendon
1:11:24
So the short answer is yes.
1:11:25
We can provide that list and we provided Regina who's the staff who who supports the committee.
1:11:29
So we got you.
Kristy Marmorato
1:11:30
Great.
1:11:30
Thank you.
1:11:30
And also just to put on your radar, City Island has a couple of art galleries, in our district, and we would love to see some Yeah.
1:11:37
Right.
1:11:37
Veteran art.
1:11:38
That would
Ellen Greeley
1:11:38
be fabulous.
1:11:39
That would be great.
1:11:39
Yep.
Kristy Marmorato
1:11:40
Exhibits.
1:11:40
Perfect.
1:11:41
Thank thank you, Chair.
