Before we begin, I do want to acknowledge the loss of several New Yorkers who died while on the job earlier this month.

Frankly Duran, a restaurant worker, was fatally shot at his shift in council member nurse's district.

We also lost Jose Ramirez, a construction worker who was killed in an equipment accident in council member Powers' district.

Our city is also mourning the tragic deaths of 5 New Yorkers to fatal fires, including incidents in the districts of council members Lee, Brewer, Banks, Moya, and Batcher.
