Today, the committee will be voting on the following legislative items ahead of the council's final state of meeting of 2024.

Proposed intro 265 a sponsored by council member Joseph, which would improve benefits enrollment process for city employees.

Resolution 521 sponsored by majority leader, Amanda Farrias, which calls on the United States Department of Labor to expand the number of OSHA authorized outreach trainers in New York City to 10 designated languages, and resolution 522 sponsored by council member Julie Mannin, which calls on the New York State legislature to pass and the governor to sign a 10225, also known as the good jobs guarantee act, which would establish certain workforce training programs and increase employment opportunities for New Yorkers.

These bills and resolutions are designed to expand and strengthen our municipal workforce.

Over the past year, the committee has tackled critical issues affecting municipal workers, including paid disparities, high vacancy rates, and the administrations and the administration of employee benefits.
