Community input has been integral to the design of SPARC Square and the project's public realm. A Community Task Force developed design principles to guide these aspects of the project.

  • Task Force co-chaired by Council Member Powers and CB 6 Chair Sandy McKee
  • Design guidelines released in June of the previous year
  • Guidelines to inform the design of SPARC Square and public realm
  • Recommendations include improving connections to nearby public spaces and designing for varied programming
  • Guidelines to be included in future developer RFP for the project's second phase

In June of last year, the Spark Kids Bay Community Task Force co chaired by council member Powers and CB 6 chair Sandy McKee, released community design principles to inform and guide the design of Spark Square in the project's public realm.

The design guidelines will also be included in the future developer r f b for the project's 2nd phase to be released this year.
