The Kips Bay Science District Education Workforce Task Force was established to develop strategies for connecting New Yorkers to job opportunities in the district's growing industries. The task force brought together experts from various sectors to create a comprehensive plan.

  • 50 experts from healthcare, life sciences, public health, education, workforce, and industry
  • Includes project partners CUNY, Health and Hospitals, OCME, and NYC Public Schools
  • Focused on creating equitable access to family-supporting jobs in life sciences and healthcare
  • Released a report with four key recommendations:
  • Scale and fund exposure-based learning opportunities
  • Strengthen student career pathways through dual enrollment, transferable credits, and work-based learning
  • Develop sector-specific, industry-driven training programs
  • Create an independent organization led by SPARC's anchor tenants for district-wide training and engagement
