I'm a journeyman electrician and member of local union number 3 of the IBEW.

I'm here on behalf of 28,000 Union Sisters and Brothers to express support for the Science Park Research Campus Project in Kipps Bay.

It's clear this project is necessary to keep growing in what New York as a hub for the critical life science sciences industry.

And important for my union and me is that that be built by the skilled trades people of the unions affiliated with the Building and Construction Trades Council.

While many New York City school children will join the life science sciences and healthcare sector in the future because of the SPARC project, many public school children would all will also join a unionized building and construction trades, including local number 3.

The SPARC project encapsulates both of these futures, solid life science infrastructure built onto a project life agreement by unionized tradesmen and women.
