Thank you all for giving us the opportunity to testify today.
5:27:54
I want to express my strong and unambiguous support of the Arrow Linen rezoning project.
5:28:01
We've heard a lot of data today about how New York is in a tremendous housing crisis right now that has been driven by both a lack of market rate and affordable housing.
5:28:11
Projects like the Arrowlinen rezoning are critical building block towards relieving our housing crisis.
5:28:17
Additionally, given the magnitude of this housing crisis, scaling back the proposed redevelopment from 13 story to half measure which will only harm working families.
5:28:26
And to be clear, I I really do support, like, any sort of effort to increase the number and depth of affordable units on the rezone site, but reducing the height of the proposed development will meaningfully reduce the overall number of affordable units at the site.
5:28:40
I don't wanna belabor this point, but, you know, 7 story building where 40% of units are rent stabilized will generate significantly fewer affordable units than a 13 story building where 40% of units are rent stabilized.
5:28:53
And then lastly, I would just like to make a broad point about neighborhood character is Winter Terrace represents one of Brooklyn's whitest and wealthiest neighborhoods with the median household income of $180,000 a year.
5:29:04
When you think about improving economic and racial integration in New York City, projects like this represent a significant opportunity to help meet the goals of New York City's Fair Housing framework.
5:29:14
Council member Hanif, I hope we encounter your support for this project, and I wanna thank the committee for their time.
