Dr. Mamta Malik

Sure.
3:55:15
Thank you.
3:55:16
My name is Mamta Malik, and I'm a member of the OBGYN department at Jacobi Hospital.
3:55:22
And, I'm speaking on behalf of the OBGYN department, that, you know, the conditions of, what the work conditions are so difficult that there there's difficulty in recruiting enough number of OBGYNs leading to, having them perform many, many calls and then having to have burnout as a consequence and then a lot of people leaving.
3:55:51
So there will be a mass exodus if this problem is not addressed urgently.
3:55:57
In addition, I'm, I also want to voice my concerns for the primary care doctors who brought up their issues of recruitment and retention and also the working conditions, because, seeing a patient that is supposed to be seen in 40 minutes, in 20 minutes is very, very hard task.
3:56:19
Not only are you seeing a patient, not only are you getting a history, you need to review their past medical history, you need to review their charts, their labs.
3:56:26
It's it's a very difficult condition.
3:56:29
In addition, if you have language barriers, it I I I doubt that people are able to really thoroughly do that in 40 minutes.
3:56:36
So re reducing that amount to 20 minutes is, I think, not a wise thing to do.
3:56:42
The thing to do is to recruit more doctors to be able to see these patients and to, help cut down on the waiting list instead of cutting down on the time taken to see these patients.
3:56:54
Thank you very much for listening to me.
3:56:56
I appreciate it.
