Today, I will today, our committee will hold a hearing and vote on resolution 678 sponsored by my colleague, council member Tiffany Caban, designating January 31st annually as Cecilia Gentile Day in the city of New York to recognize her significant contributions as a author, performer, policy maker, and activist activist who fought for the rights of undocumented immigrants, sex workers, and LGBTQIA plus individuals.

Cecilia Gentile was a champion in the LGBTI and wider New York City community, and this resolution is greatly welcomed in this committee and the council as a whole.
