Council Member Rivera asks about the role of participants' feedback in shaping future iterations of the program. Albeliza Perez from the American Museum of Natural History responds, explaining their feedback process and ongoing learning approach.
- Reflective activities are incorporated throughout the program
- A 'community of practice' approach is used, emphasizing mutual learning
- A 10-year NSF-funded longitudinal study on STEM persistence is mentioned

And and what role does the participants' feedback their feedback play in in shaping future iterations of the program?

Do you you wanna you can answer.
1:40:24
So, in the museum education experience program, we have a lot of reflective activities that happen with our young people as they complete the program and throughout the program.
1:40:35
So the feedback is ongoing.
1:40:37
We created what's called a community of practice, and that's central to the way that we think about our work in the space.
1:40:43
And that means that we're learning as much as they're learning from us.
1:40:48
And so that's embedded into the design and structure of the program.
1:40:53
With what Aaron had mentioned regarding the longitudinal study.
1:40:57
It's a 10 year longitudinal study on persistence in STEM that's NSF funded.
1:41:03
So, yeah, that is soon to be coming to a close.
1:41:07
But we're hoping to, again, have take that learning from, that longitudinal study and apply it more broadly across the network because it does need a pretty robust infrastructure in order to do that level of tracking and be able to provide that level of analysis.

Thank you.
