Thank you for that.
1:17:52
So let's just go back a little bit regarding your response on youth.
1:17:57
How many instances of trafficking involves youth occur in the New York City public schools in 2024 based off NYPD's investigations.
1:18:09
Like, that 330, is that a part of some calls by mandated reporters from this?
Carlos Ortiz
1:18:15
Yeah.
1:18:16
Those calls can come in from everywhere.
1:18:17
We don't document, specifically where they're they're they're coming from.
Farah N. Louis
1:18:22
From schools?
1:18:22
Is n does NYPD handle it differently if you're getting calls from schools?
Carlos Ortiz
1:18:27
No.
1:18:27
I I I think every crime should be handled just the same way.
1:18:30
In in my opinion, I think, you know, a survivor is a survivor, whichever way is reported, whichever way it comes in.
1:18:36
So, you know, once it gets on the hotline, you know, our goal and and my detective's goal is to get somebody there whether it's a school, whether it's a church, whether it's outside, whether it's somebody's house.
1:18:45
My goal is is getting somebody there, as soon as possible.
Farah N. Louis
1:18:49
Do you all have a number of cases of of children that may have potentially been trafficked from New York City Public Schools?
1:18:57
Do you have any case numbers on that?
Carlos Ortiz
1:18:59
Not not that I could think of.
