Council Member Linda Lee inquires about accountability measures and performance metrics for funded programs. Dr. Rebecca Linn-Walton explains the process for monitoring program effectiveness and ensuring accountability.
- Each funded program has a system of goals and metrics they must meet to retain funding
- Performance improvement measures are in place to help programs address issues
- Contracting measures are designed to help providers be effective and do the work they were engaged to do
- RFPs prioritize communities most strongly affected by the overdose crisis

Okay.
0:41:43
Definitely curious to hear more.
0:41:46
In terms of the accountability measures, can you outline the process for auditing and verifying that each funded program is meeting its stated objectives?
0:41:55
And I realized for some, it may be early on.
0:41:57
And are there defined performance metrics for agencies to report on, and how often must they do so?
Dr. Rebecca Linn- Walton
0:42:04
I definitely will have to follow-up on those specific metrics.
0:42:07
But, yes, for every funded program, we have a system of goals and metrics there, they should be meeting in order to to retain that funding.
0:42:15
Because absolutely, we wanna make sure that people are doing what they should be with the funding.
0:42:19
And then also, more importantly, when things aren't going well, what's causing that and how do we help them fix that?
0:42:25
Because at the end of the day, we'd much rather they fix any issues that are going on rather than remove the funding so we have performance improvement when needed.
0:42:33
All of those contracting measures in place to help people be effective and do the work they were engaged to do.
Linda Lee
0:42:39
Okay.
0:42:40
And I'm assuming that when you do the RFPs or whenever you release the RFPs for the next ones, you will be taking a look at the ones that are already contracted with the city, who have proven experience to do the work, and then can service those neighborhoods.
Dr. Rebecca Linn- Walton
0:42:52
Absolutely.
0:42:53
Yeah.
0:42:54
And we definitely prioritize the communities most strongly affected by the overdose crisis.
