I'm gonna hand it over to my colleagues soon.
0:47:31
But just out of curiosity, I know you guys mentioned a lot of programs, peer support, new programs.
0:47:37
Where are you find how are you recruiting folks?
0:47:39
Just out of because I know workforce all across the board is a huge issue, so I'd be very curious to hear how you guys are doing your recruitment.
Dr. Rebecca Linn- Walton
0:47:45
Yeah.
0:47:45
I think I'll start very quickly and then turn it over to the recruitment folks and the workforce folks is, I mean, for example, we have the peer core and I would really and I would love to have people referred from communities as well, and so we we work constantly to figure out where our community partners for when we have openings and new to recruit, but I think we could do a much better job of getting all that information out there.
0:48:09
So, I think there would be a great possibility of having, everyone be more aware of when we're launching new programs as well.
0:48:17
So that we we want community members to serve their own communities because that seem that's most effective.
0:48:19
I know that increases my dedication to because that seem that's most effective.
0:48:22
I know that increases my dedication to the work I do, and so we want people in New Yorkers to be part of the work.
0:48:29
And I'll turn it over to doctor Schatz.
Dr. Daniel Schatz
0:48:31
Great.
0:48:32
Thanks.
0:48:32
Yes.
0:48:32
The workforce is absolutely, difficulty, and it's important to acknowledge that there's a nation national shortage in behavioral health across the system.
0:48:40
However, here at New York City Health and Hospitals, we do have a robust portfolio of initiatives to develop our workforce, and it's one of our top strategic priorities because we can have all the money we want.
0:48:49
But if we don't have the the staff at the end of the day, we're not actually having the program.
0:48:54
So one of one example of the many is, our social workers and peers for, health and hospital ran a multi platform campaign, to recruit social workers and it ran for 6 weeks across a number of platforms, LinkedIn, Google, etcetera.
0:49:08
And it really has, picked up, the number of social workers that we we've attracted and, hired.
0:49:14
We also have Pure Academy, which is a really successful, service that we have that helps recruit and train community members as well as people with, you know, with lived experience, which is really critical to our entire, program.
0:49:27
And and, to help them become state certified peer counselors who can support behavioral health at health and hospitals.
0:49:34
And we we hire over a 100 peers across our system, which is one of the largest in New York City.
0:49:39
So, definitely an issue and we try and train up and, recruit staff.
0:49:44
We're also very innovative and cutting edge, so people are attracted to the the services that we're doing.
Linda Lee
0:49:50
And in terms of capacity, are you guys at capacity?
0:49:52
I'm assuming no.
0:49:53
Right?
0:49:54
Because meaning there's still more opportunity for either staffing or peers to get involved in a lot of these programs.
0:49:59
You're not fully at capacity.
0:50:01
Right?
Dr. Daniel Schatz
0:50:01
That's correct.
Linda Lee
0:50:02
Okay.
0:50:03
What what percentage would you say you have left to
Dr. Daniel Schatz
0:50:05
I would have to go back to.
Linda Lee
0:50:06
I'm not Okay.
