Right.
2:17:35
Thank you.
2:17:35
Just, that was council member Lee's question.
2:17:40
I'm gonna go back to the very beginning.
2:17:41
So I just want some basic, data information.
2:17:44
And if the data's not available, just please get it back to me.
2:17:48
For the current school year 2023, 2024, how many and what percentage of students have IEPs, based on race, ethnicity, gender, students in shelters, students in foster care, English language learners, and students in bilingual special education programs.
2:18:05
And I would like to acknowledge council member Ressler.
Christina Foti
2:18:09
Chair, we we brought, I know that there were significant data requests from from the council.
2:18:14
We have all of those, with us today.
2:18:16
We brought physical copies as well if you'd like them.
Rita Joseph
2:18:18
So you'll be handing them out?
2:18:20
Absolutely.
2:18:21
Thank you.
2:18:25
And of these students, how many and how many and what percentage are not receiving at least one of their service mandated in their IEP?
2:18:34
You bought one copy?
John Hammer
2:18:40
I got this.
2:18:41
Just to go back to
Rita Joseph
2:18:42
You can figure, I'm not happy today.
2:18:43
I'm very unhappy.
John Hammer
2:18:47
Just going back to the first question there around counts of students there, in school year 20 23, 24, there were a 184,842 students with IEPs, out of 820,241 students.
2:19:00
That's 22.5% of of the students had,
Rita Joseph
2:19:04
Can you speak up a little, please?
John Hammer
2:19:06
22.5% of students had IEPs in school year 24.
2:19:10
This school year, there are a 188,791 students Out of 813,880 students, 23.2 percent of students have IEPs in New York City Public Schools.
2:19:23
For students in shelter, last year, 8 hun 8,951 students had IEPs.
2:19:29
Out of 64,668 students, 13.8 percent of the population.
2:19:35
This year, 10,588 86 students out of 67,545 students, 15.7%.
2:19:45
Students in other temporary housing, last year, 11,181 out of 82,777, that's 13 a half percent.
2:19:56
This year, 12,300 and 77 out of 88,021.
2:20:01
That's 14.1%.
Rita Joseph
2:20:03
And and out of all of those of these students, how many and what percentage are not receiving at least one of their mandated services?
John Hammer
2:20:10
Yeah.
2:20:10
So as deputy chancellor, testified testified, we've continued to make progress towards full service and, not where we need to be.
2:20:18
And so, as as of last year, 92% of students were receiving all of their mandated programs.
2:20:26
In terms of all related services, we were at about 95%.
2:20:30
But in terms of the specific number of students, that did not receive at least one service, so all of their recommended programs, all of their recommended services, speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, that number was 23,906.
2:20:44
That's 12.9 percent of of the of the And
Rita Joseph
2:20:47
those of those students who have not received no services at all?
John Hammer
2:20:52
That number is 1,770 4.
2:20:55
That's 1%.
2:20:57
99% of of students are receiving at least one service.
Rita Joseph
2:21:00
And what is in place to eventually get the students their services?
