We'd like to remind all New Yorkers of the importance of following parks' rules and acting responsibly while enjoying our parks because discarded cigarettes, campfires, flammable debris, and fireworks can ignite ignite brush fires that can cause tremendous damage.

Turning to the legislation being heard today, pre considered 30 15 would require New York City Parks in conjunction in consultation with other appropriate city agencies to develop a plan to mitigate the occurrences of wildfires in parks and report annually on wildfires that occur in parks under its jurisdiction.
