So, great, great question.
1:42:06
So one of the things that we plan on doing, and sticking with the model, the Sophie Davis model that has worked, is actually, you know, allowing students to come from any place.
1:42:20
So they could come from Brooklyn.
1:42:22
And if we have they can come from the Bronx.
1:42:25
Okay.
1:42:25
I got you.
1:42:26
Okay.
1:42:27
They could come from Queens.
1:42:29
And a student can choose where they're going to do some components of that education before they get into the medical school curriculum.
1:42:36
So they we want to continue to preserve what we know has worked for generations.
1:42:41
1.
1:42:42
You know, we make, that's probably the easiest lift right now.
1:42:48
For instance, we've some students have come in from Brooklyn because the partnership that they've had, that led to a BSMD, program is, you know, they've made some changes.
1:43:01
And we're happy because they're a CUNY school.
1:43:03
CUNY, students.
1:43:06
And they're great students.
1:43:09
We will really work through the whole conversation of pathways.
1:43:14
We've got, Ms.
1:43:17
Zimmerman who is actually really expert in communications.
1:43:21
We've got we're making enhancements in our, in our recruiting of admissions people.
1:43:28
So we probably need to actually, as we think about doing more, you know, need resources to do that.
1:43:39
But, you know, going out to like minded partners, we can't be with everyone, right?
1:43:43
So, but we can think about which places and spaces we really should be working in.
1:43:49
And using that concept of educational and healthcare disparities, where those are the deepest.
1:43:51
And that's where we'll probably focus a lot of our attention.
1:43:54
Deepest.
1:43:54
And that's where we'll probably focus a lot of our attention, but throughout the entire city.
1:44:00
So, we've got to do, I would say, a better job, because many people don't know we exist and we will do that job.
1:44:08
So hopefully that answers your question.
Eric Dinowitz
1:44:10
Well, sort of, yeah.
1:44:11
I mean, I I wanna hear more.
1:44:13
You're going you mentioned a partnership with one high school, I believe, in your opening testimony.
1:44:19
Is that right?
1:44:19
Did I make that up?
Carmen Renée Green
1:44:22
So I did I talked to the Esquierdo School?
Eric Dinowitz
1:44:26
Yes.
Carmen Renée Green
1:44:27
Yeah.
1:44:27
That one?
1:44:30
Okay.
1:44:30
Yeah.
1:44:31
So, you know, we've had a long serving, you know, partnership with that particular school.
1:44:39
We've had quite a few students who've come from that.
1:44:41
It's in the Bronx.
Eric Dinowitz
1:44:42
That's a high school.
1:44:43
Right.
1:44:44
Yes.
Carmen Renée Green
1:44:44
They go down to the middle school too.
1:44:46
Mhmm.
1:44:46
And so we're gonna make that a much more robust partnership.
1:44:49
We're gonna make some partnerships with a few other high schools.
1:44:52
You know, again, we we've got limited resources and returns to finances as well as people.
1:44:57
But we're committed to doing that type of work.
1:45:01
We want to create you know, even though middle school I'm sort of thinking about, will I be the dean when that happens?
1:45:11
Anyway, you know, but we are committed to bringing on this next generation of students, preparing them well.
1:45:18
And that's the reason why we really wanna open up these kind of pathways.
