Council Member Amanda Farías inquires about the coordination between the Beacon project and NYCHA's Wagner Houses. Brian Backscheider from The Community Builders explains their engagement with the Wagner campus on two levels:

  • Gathering feedback from the tenant association on space usage and design preferences
  • Coordinating with Wagner campus management on construction activities
  • The development team has incorporated feedback into the design and plans to use underutilized space for construction staging.
  • After construction, improvements will be made to the shared spaces.

corridors?

Yes.

So we've we've been engaged with the the Wagner, campus actually really in two different levels.
0:15:05
One, with the tenant association, and and gathering feedback for, what their, you know, their how they use the spaces around the beacon site and, what they'd like to see, kind of along our edge.

And then also, sort of from the the more management level, at Wagner campus to make sure that we're coordinating, any sort of construction activities, that are happening on-site.
0:15:31
And so to that end, we've we've started those discussions and and, are continuing them to incorporate the feedback in the design.
0:15:39
We also might use a portion of the site, that's sort of underutilized for construction staging.

And then as part of the restoration at the after construction, we would be doing improvements to that space.
