- A commitment to 35% local hiring for construction jobs is made
- The shift to conventional construction allows for more local hiring across the entire building process
- Local hiring focuses on skilled trades and construction jobs
- The project is working with the local LDC (Local Development Corporation) to facilitate local hiring
- Post-construction hiring for building service workers is also discussed

We made a, a, commitment to 35% of local hiring.
0:41:36
And, and at first, I just wanna address I share your, your, sentiment regarding module.
0:41:42
We're very excited about that, because it's a in the signed delivery method, something that we would love to grow with.
0:41:48
Just turns out that for this particular project, it's way more expensive than, to mention, but we'll get back to the specifics as mentioned.
0:41:55
A 35% local hiring goal is good because with modular, we were only able to offer that with the podium and below because the superstructure would be shipped in from somewhere else.
0:42:06
Now we can spread that 35% requirement across the entire building, which is gonna be more, massively more local hiring.
0:42:14
We And
Sandy Nurse
0:42:15
what what's the local hiring look like?
0:42:16
Is it, primarily construction?
0:42:19
Is it post construction?
0:42:21
And, you know, is it long term or short term?
Thomas Campbell
0:42:24
Certainly, a 35% is our construction jobs, real construction jobs, not just laborers, but actual skilled trades, you know, the main construction jobs.
0:42:33
And that's where a lot of the economics are generated.
0:42:35
Okay.
0:42:35
We haven't discussed post construction, but we're we haven't been asked about that.
0:42:39
But we have a a solid commitment to provide and building service to surpassing that number in terms of building service workers post construction.
Sandy Nurse
0:42:47
And who's your primary partner for funneling, or engaging local hire?
Thomas Campbell
0:42:53
So we're working with, the bid, local bid.
0:42:57
Which one?
0:42:58
Bill Wilkins and his team.
Sandy Nurse
0:42:59
The LDC?
Thomas Campbell
0:43:00
LDC.
0:43:01
Yeah.
0:43:01
Yeah.
0:43:01
LDC, which is not far away from our site.
0:43:04
That's really who's we've met with several times, and we've done the site tour with them.
0:43:08
And they're capable and we're excited to work with them.
