So does your agency basically assess the impact of staff reductions in the ability for the museum to fulfill its mission?
0:28:02
So as we're going into this next budget, right Mhmm.
0:28:04
You're sitting with the museum and you're thinking about the ways the museum should be fulfilling its mission, are you taking into account the impact of staff reductions?
Laurie Cumbo
0:28:15
We don't take into account staff reductions when we are funding the institution.
0:28:22
Mhmm.

They have a mission statement in terms of programming that they have to administer to the public, and we have to make sure that they are working towards the mission statement that's provided by the institution.
0:28:35
So for them to have staffing reductions, which unfortunately happens from time to time with many of our organizations, and the challenge is that we're gonna be facing more of those in the upcoming years, is that we have to continue to fund those organizations, and we have to continue to make sure that they can keep the doors open.
0:28:57
But at the same time, we don't have a requirement in terms of that they have to fulfill certain amount of staffing obligations before we would fund them in the next budget or fiscal year.
0:29:10
Okay.
