And are you do you have the data as to like how many complaints were reported through CCHR and what actions and I only ask this because CCHR is not well funded.
Ronald Porcelli

I do have that data, let me find it for you.
0:53:09
Okay.
0:53:10
In fiscal year twenty four, yeah, excuse me.
0:53:15
24 cases were filed based on membership of NYC's LGBTQ Plus I totally read that wrong, excuse me.
0:53:23
In fiscal year '20 '4 cases that were filed based on membership of NYC's LGBTQ Plus IA communities include fifty nine cases filed involving gender which encompasses gender identity and gender expression.
0:53:40
This is also a common area of inquiries, so there are 200 plus inquiries that have been related to this subject.
0:53:47
And then 24 cases were filed related to sexual orientation.
0:53:52
This is also a common area of inquiry with 81 inquiries in that particular case.

And is this like steady or is this more than the previous year?
0:54:03
I'm just trying to understand how our city both is like collecting or being a resource for these kinds of reporting and also are we reducing the cases and solving the ones that are coming to the agency?
Ronald Porcelli

So with regards to that extra follow-up for additional fiscal years and really illustrating that sort of trend that you're alluding to, I would defer to the City Commission on Human Rights.
0:54:35
They would be able to provide you that information and then it would really elucidate what we're seeing.
0:54:41
Hopefully, we don't see a rise but, you know, obviously that is a potentiality and so I would we can definitely connect and showcase that sort of data.
0:54:54
Then I would also say writ large, and this is beyond the local jurisdiction, there is a tremendous amount of catch up that needs to be done with regards to SOGI, that is sexual orientation, gender identity, expression data, and so that is an ongoing trend.
0:55:11
To put this in the wider context, the conversation that we're having today would have been very different from the conversation ten years ago and fifteen years ago with regards to this entire population.
0:55:22
So this is something that I think writ large and perhaps it's a call to action to academia and nonprofit organizations to really focus on this SODY data collection and and get more information with regards to the community, particularly the numbers that you're looking for.
