And in terms, you testified that community based organizations that you will all have expanded community based organizations as navigation centers and almost 30,000 touch points in FY '25.
1:22:14
Can you elaborate more on those touch points and again going back to my original question, these community based organizations that are taking the task that honestly should be the task of government, What is the support that exists for those organizations via your your agency?
Manuel Castro
1:22:30
Yes.
1:22:31
Thank you for the question and again I have been a big champion of the community based organizations work with our immigrant communities, having been an director of one prior to joining this administration.
1:22:43
I will let my deputy commissioner of programs talk more about how we do this work.
1:22:51
But I just want to say that I understand your concerns, and thank you for your comments and feedback.
1:23:00
I think, Moya, we do the best that we can as as you've expressed as well within the constraints we have in our charter mandate.
1:23:16
I wish there was those were stronger.
1:23:20
We have limited powers and resources to do everything we wish we could, but we remain very much committed to all our immigrant communities, especially the most vulnerable and those who are in fear right now, which is why I continue to express to to them directly that nothing has changed with our sanctuary laws in our policies.
1:23:51
And I don't wanna weigh in further on proposals or anything that, again, adds to the confusion that exists and that is that has been my commitment.
1:24:03
So I'll pass it over to the deputy commissioner to share more.
Lorena Lucero
1:24:06
Thank you for the question.
1:24:09
In f y twenty four, we had 10 sites across the city.
1:24:13
We actually expanded that in f y twenty five and added five additional sites up to provide you some specifics in regards to the work that the sites have been doing.
1:24:24
It's an array of services, including direct services, workforce development services, case management.
1:24:35
Just to sort of name a few of the things that the navigation centers have been doing.
