Hey.
6:09:05
Hello.
6:09:07
Hello, chair Aviles.
6:09:09
My name is Christopher Leon Johnson.
6:09:11
I'm here to ask you since you are a constituent and you are an elected official that used to that used to be under the former state senator senator Eywen Chew, and this is the immigration committee.
6:09:25
I'm requesting that you I know I asked Brandon yesterday to support and introduce a resolution to support a bill in the New York State Senate that is called s nine nine two four a in the State Senate to make it a class e felony for anybody to assault a delivery staff because I know you serve the 40 you serve Sunset Park and the Worker Justice Project is there.
6:09:47
And like I said yesterday that $4,000,000 should be allocated to two nonprofits, two to Worker Justice Project and two to La Comena to while in the meantime to advocate, to be hospital responders for deliveristas while at the same time they should be getting trained being trained and, coached by two nonprofits, LifeCamp Inc.
6:10:11
And Man Up Inc.
6:10:12
That get discretionary funds in the city council and the state assembly state senate.
6:10:16
One thing that we all have to understand that, while these guys need to be protected, there should be bills in the city council.
6:10:25
I know that I support New York for all where no police agency should be assisting ICE in deportations, but at the same time, there should be bills that if you ride a ebike while delivering food and delivering medicine, you shouldn't be harassed by the NYPD because this is what's going on in the streets of New York, in the streets of New York with the the reason being harassed by the NYPD when they especially deliver medicine.
6:10:52
I don't know who's I have family that are sick too, but I don't wish that nobody be sick.
6:10:57
But the city council to introduce bills to protect these guys and gals while delivering food delivering food and stuff like that because, yeah, we got a e bike crisis in the city, but not all these people here are bad in the city.
6:11:09
So I I know you'll you I know she's not the longest state senator, Eileen Chew, but you should support that bill in the state senate.
