Council Member Moya asks about the oversight mechanism for tracking community benefit commitments made by the Queens Future project team. Michael Sullivan from Queens Future LLC outlines their plans for oversight and enforcement.
- A seven-person local committee will be established based on proximity to the site
- Community Boards 3 and 7 will have representation on the committee
- A $163 million community benefit fund is included in the RFA application to the state
- The gaming license and its renewal will serve as the ultimate enforcement mechanism

And then during the ULURP, the project team has committed to making significant contributions in community benefits, which you just mentioned.

Is there a vision for some kind of oversight or body to track these commitments over time?
Michael Sullivan

Yes.
0:35:01
We're gonna have a seven person local committee that will be established based on proximity to the site.
0:35:09
We've committed to both community boards three and seven immediately proximate to us to have representation where they can appoint somebody to be on that committee.
0:35:18
But council member, we're also, as part of our RFA application to the state, including the hundred $63,000,000 community benefit fund.
0:35:27
So the ultimate enforcement mechanism is the gaming license itself, our ability to maintain the ability to operate the project, and then ultimately to get a license renewal down the road.
0:35:41
So this is something that we're committing to as part of the overall project and ultimately enforceable by the Gaming Commission as well.

Great.

Glad to hear that.
