I'm a current board member with the Metro Athletic Dragons Dragon Boat team.

I live in Councilman Moyers district, lifelong resident of East Elmhurst, probably one of the first Asian American families to move in back in the early eighties of the time.

I'm here today to support the Metro Park development because two of one of my hobbies one of two of my hobbies is dragon boating, and we practice out of the World's Fair Marina.

For a very long time, Pier 1 at World's Fair Marina has been around as long as the parking lot that we're looking to, rezone has been, a long eighty years.

And ever since then, the parks department has always tried to make has tried to replace the pier, but has never come to fruition because of lack of funds or funds being diverted elsewhere.

For many years, members of my team, my my my community as well have reached out to elder developments along with the air train, the Olympics bid.

But what better development than Metro Park where they're looking to reconnect Flushing Meadows Corona Park through the stadium, through a new 25 acre park, through the rebuilding of Shea Road, and the waterfront?

To bring back the ferry, you need a new pier, a pier that's up to date with standard code, safety regulations, and all that.

And not only will the new pier bring back the ferry service, it will also keep our Dragon Boat community home in World's Fair Marina because we've been there since the nineties.

And come this April, we're losing our home.

Come this April because the parks department, the peers have failed inspections.

So I am supporting Metro Park because through their contributions, their commitment to extending park to park to Waterfront, we'll have our new pier, and we get to keep our home there at Worlds Fair Marina.
