Deldreana Peterkin, Director of Workforce Development at NYC Department of Probation, provides an overview of the current DOP program structure and relationships with providers. She addresses some of the concerns raised by Councilmember Stevens.
- Peterkin mentions that DOP has 19 programs with 78 providers, 26 of which are unique
- She explains that her team meets with providers monthly and discusses issues that arise
- Peterkin acknowledges that they haven't heard about the court-related program access issues before, but commits to addressing them in future provider meetings

Yes.
1:04:27
Good morning, everyone.
Althea Stevens
1:04:28
Good morning.
Deldreana E. Peterkin
1:04:29
Yeah.
1:04:29
Deldrina Peterkin.
1:04:31
And so you're right, but we have seen though that some programs they do accept juvenile and actually I'm talking about they may be they may be an adult program but they get more referrals from juvenile operations.
1:04:47
So since we've seen that we've been thinking about that too, how we can make it available for both courts to share that same pie.
1:04:57
And so yeah we have 19 programs and in that 19 programs we have 78 providers, 26 of them are unique, 78 is because a lot of them have you know multiple contracts with us, but we do meet with them regularly.
1:05:12
So me and my team meet with them on a monthly basis and then with the evaluators they go out and they have these administrative meetings with them, and so anytime they have these administrative meetings with them they come back, we talk about it, we talk to the provider together to see how we can streamline any issue that they have.
1:05:29
We haven't heard that what you just said, but now that you told me, I'm gonna bring it up to them.
Althea Stevens
1:05:33
Yeah.
1:05:34
I don't know why you haven't heard
Deldreana E. Peterkin
1:05:35
it because this is one
Lincoln Restler
1:05:35
of the
Althea Stevens
1:05:36
things that I have been hearing consistently from the providers, and I meet with them regularly.
1:05:39
So I don't know why you're not hearing it.
Deldreana E. Peterkin
1:05:41
Yeah.
1:05:41
So maybe we
Althea Stevens
1:05:42
the next time we meet
Bridget Hamblin
1:05:43
I'm a
Althea Stevens
1:05:43
bring it up.
1:05:44
I'm sure.
1:05:45
Listen.
1:05:45
You can turn around.
1:05:46
I see a whole bunch of head nods when I was talking, so I Right.
1:05:49
I'm not sure why you guys are not hearing it.
Deldreana E. Peterkin
1:05:50
So I'll bring
Althea Stevens
