Executive Director Jeanne Victor explains the challenges EEPC faces in meeting its charter requirements for audits. She discusses how staffing issues have affected their ability to complete all audits within the calendar year they were initiated.
- The city charter requires EEPC to audit agencies once every four years
- EEPC considers an audit complete when final determinations are issued to the agency
- Staffing issues led to some audits carrying over into the following calendar year

So

the charter the city charter requires that we audit agencies once every four years.

And we have we have taken this to understand that final determinations for from our office to the agency during the course of an audit is the completion of the audit and that there may be times when agencies audits carry carry into the following year, and last year was one of those times.

So we we issued eight final determinations in calendar year 2025 when we specifically strive to have all final determinations completed in the calendar year in which they were initiated.

So if and I and I think the reason for that was because the staffing issues finally caught up to us, and we just couldn't overcome the fact that we had new staff and we had lost staff, and we just were not able to get those all all all of the agencies completed within the calendar year.
